E is growing like a flower! (Don't you just love that phrase...so much more dainty and lovely than growing like a weed...so thankful for a former parent who introduced me to that phrase when speaking of E a few years back). Not a day goes by that I am not amazed by what she is learning, doing and how much she is growing.
A while back, probably March we introduced E to her semi-big girl bed. She had been sleeping in her crib/toddler bed (crib with toddler rail on it) since November 2011. Her semi-big girl bed consisted of her twin mattresses on the floor with her new bedding on them. No frills or bells and whistles. It made it hard to make being so low to the ground but she loved it and it definitely was a shorter fall if/when she did tumble out of bed.
E has been very patient to say the least. She has been watching her Daddy out in the garage while he has worked on her bed on and off since March. No, it didn't take his 7 months to make the bed. But when you factor in yard work, other house work, building/fixing things for other people and the 100+ temps we get in Memphis in the summer time just wasn't on his side for finishing the bed.
Fast forward to this past weekend. It is finally finished. We put the finishing touches on the paint Thursday night (E even helped a little). On Friday, Ryan came home from work and set her bed up while she was at a birthday party. She was so surprised when she went up stairs and saw it all set up. ***the footboard is just as beautiful
